HTC is preparing to launch a new Japan-only Android smartphone, marked as HTC J (model number ISW13HT). The newly announced device, which is pretty much a version of One S with WiMAX connectivity, will join KDDI’s range in late May. In that sense, we’re wondering whether a similar model will be released for Sprint, which still operates a WiMAX network and will continue to do so until full migration to LTE is completed.
Aside from WiMAX and support for One-Seg mobile wallet service, the HTC J is 100% One S under the hood, boasting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.3-inch qHD screen, 16GB of built-in storage, while Android 4.0 is running the show with HTC’s own Sense UI 4.0 singing on top. Moreover, it’s a Beats Audio-enabled device that ships with Beats In-Ear Headphones.
When it comes to available colors, KDDI will offer the new phone in all black, black with red and all white.
